Royal Princess (Artania) arriving in Sydney some time in the 1980's
Was glad to finally get this uploaded after so much trouble with it - its a musically romanticised video of a ship's maiden arrival in Sydney with Rachmaninov's Symphony no 2 3rd movt with Edo de Waart conducting followed by Rachmaninov's second piano concerto 2nd movement the great Vladimir Askenazy on piano, as background music. As a matter of interest the Symphony contains arguably the longest and most beautiful themes ever created - the ship Royal Princess is today the MS Artania and this scene is over 30 years ago - enjoy hopefully.
