When Russia Attempted Human Ape Breeding

A real life Planet of the Apes type experiment was attempted by a Russian scientist in the 1920’s. Ilya Ivanov, a Soviet biologist, carried out a series of experiments in hopes of creating a Humanzee. The experiments involved artificially inseminating female chimpanzees with human sperm, and inseminating female humans with ape sperm.
