How to Build a Sweat-Less Soil Sampler

Collecting soil samples is important, but which sampling equipment should you use? Sure, a shovel or trowel will do the job, but taking multiple samples can be strenuous, and getting a uniform sample can be difficult. Probes are great at creating a uniform sample but have trouble collecting compacted soils.

A sweat-less soil sampler! Today, we’ll look at how to build a soil sampler for your farm. Originally developed by Oklahoma State University, this design was modified by both CFSA and Clemson Cooperative Extension.
