The Underground Can-Can

Written by Guy Barry, interpreted and performed by Rob Mansell. A setting of all 270 London Underground stations to the tune of Offenbach's Can-Can. Enjoy it! For an extended introduction and a different camera angle, see http://youtu.be/alMyrOvZUbo. Unfortunately this other recording ran out before the end, but you get most of it!

In the "Underground Can-Can", the stations are done by line so interchange stations are repeated. But to keep it manageable Guy Barry omitted the Circle line and the section of the Hammersmith and City line east of Baker St, since all stations are found on other lines. A few station names have had to be adapted to the metre but this has been kept to a minimum. You can watch them as they appear on the screen in the video! Rob passes on his thanks to Rachel, the 'score-keeper' during the performance, who made sure that duplicates didn't count towards the total!

You can find the full words to the song at: http://guys-diary.blogspot.co.uk/2014_12_01_archive.html . Guy has since suggested that "Orpheus in the Underground" may be a better title!

This performance was filmed at the Millmead Centre in Guildford on Sat 29th November 2014.
