Meet Annie, a humanoid robot singer from China.

The hyper-realistic android, developed by AnyWit Robotics, appeared on a recent JD.com livestream alongside Chinese pop star Liu Yuning. Launched in late 2023 in Hefei, Any Wit is known for its android busts that bear a striking resemblance to the world famous Ameca by Engineered Arts.

Annie's lifelike robotic head is mounted on a Unitree G1 body, which stands about 127 cm (4 foot 1), about the height of the OG M3GAN.

It's integrated with five fingered dexterous hands. AnyWit's androids feature highly expressive animatronic faces with a reported 34 degrees of freedom (DoF).

The startup is part of China's fast rising synthetic human niche. The tech is advancing rapidly with increased focus on bipedal locomotion and dexterous manipulation.
