Smart Alternators and DCDC Chargers

In this video I demonstrate how the LV or trigger wire on the Redarc BCDC1240D DCDC Charger works.

If you have a modern car its likely to have a smart alternator, which means it won't put out enough voltage to get through a VSR. The LV/Trigger wire is used to get around this problem.

Remember though a lot of modern cars can have SmartCharge disabled so a VSR Setup will still work.

This video is to demonstrate how an LV (low voltage) alternator system with a DCDC Charger works.
