Crikey Australia Zoo's Robert Irwin celebrates his 15th birthday!

Robert Irwin is celebrating his 15th birthday at his Australia Zoo home on Saturday, December 1st.

Find out what about his prehistoric birthday gift, his appearances on the Jimmy Fallon show, his highlights over the past year and what's ahead for 2019.

Robert is an award winning photographer and well-known conservationist and celebrated his achievements over the last year, all of which uphold the legacy of his father, Steve Irwin.

During 2018, Robert has received recognition in the Windland Smith Rice - Nature’s Best Photography Awards and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards. Both awards are among the most prestigious and competitive in the world.

Robert has also taken on a lead role in the brand new television series ‘Crikey! It’s the Irwins’, engaging a global audience with his passion for wildlife and his commitment to conservation.

Robert said he was looking forward to celebrating his birthday with everyone at Australia Zoo.

“I feel so lucky that I get to celebrate my birthday with so many people each year – it’s the best birthday party ever! Everyone will get a slice of cake and a special Jurassic gift and I will be feeding our amazing saltwater crocodiles in the Crocoseum. It’s going to be a lot of fun!”

When asked what his plans were for the coming year, Robert said it was to continue on the work his father started all those years ago.

“Dad had this unwavering passion for wildlife, it was the reason he was put on this planet. I think I was put here for that same reason.

“I want to share with people across the world the importance of conservation through our new television series and my photography. I want them to fall in love with wildlife and then maybe they will help save animals too,” said Robert.
