A man named Ashish Ashok Patel has been apprehended by the MIDC police for
allegedly defrauding a young man of approximately five lakhs through an online scam
promising lucrative returns on mutual fund investments. The investigation has also
brought to light the involvement of several more individuals in these fraudulent
activities.The 31-year-old complainant, employed as a program manager in a private
company based in Andheri, trapped in this scheme. He received a message via the
Telegram app from a profile named "Joyce," which claimed that investing in mutual
funds would yield returns ranging from 30 to 35 percent. Subsequently, another
individual, Prakash, contacted him with a similar proposition, outlining investment
opportunities.Trusting the representation, the complainant proceeded to invest around
five lakhs across various bank accounts.The following day, he was forced into
considering additional investments. When he expressed an inability to invest further due to lack of funds, Prakash issued an ultimatum: invest the additional amount or risk forfeiting any returns on the initial five-lakh investment. Attempting to communicate with Prakash, the complainant discovered that the mobile number was switched off and
the Telegram ID had been deleted. Upon realising that he had fallen victim to a fraudulent scheme, the complainant promptly notified the MIDC police.
Subsequently, the police registered a case against the unidentified perpetrator under IT sections relating to fraud. As the investigation unfolded, Ashish Patel was apprehended
for questioning based on technical evidence.

रुपये की धोखाधड़ी करने के आरोप में आशीष अशोक पटेल नामक एक व्यक्ति को एम.आई.डी.सी पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार किया है। जाँच में इन धोखाधड़ी गतिविधियों में कई और व्यक्तियों की संलिप्तता भी सामने आई है

अंधेरी स्थित एक निजी कंपनी में प्रोग्राम मैनेजर के पद पर कार्यरत 31 वर्षीय शिकायतकर्ता इस योजना में फंस गया । उन्हें टेलीग्राम ऐप के माध्यम से "जॉयस" नामक प्रोफ़ाइल से एक संदेश मिला, जिसमें दावा किया गया था कि म्यूचुअल फंड में निवेश करने पर 30 से 35 प्रतिशत तक रिटर्न मिलेगा। |इसके बाद, एक अन्य व्यक्ति, प्रकाश, ने निवेश के अवसरों की- रूपरेखा बताते हुए उसी तरह के प्रस्ताव के साथ उससे संपर्क किया। |प्रतिनिधित्व पर भरोसा करते हुए, शिकायतकर्ता ने

विभिन्न बैंक खातों में लगभग पाँच लाख रुपये निवेश करना शुरू कर दिया।|अगले दिन, उन पर अतिरिक्त निवेश पर विचार करने के लिए दबाव डाला गया।|जब उन्होंने धन की कमी के कारण आगे निवेश करने में असमर्थता व्यक्त की, तो प्रकाश ने एक अल्टीमेटम जारी किया- अतिरिक्त राशि निवेश करें या शुरुआती पांच लाख निवेश पर रिटर्न जब्त करने का जोखिम उठाएं।| प्रकाश से संपर्क करने का प्रयास करने पर, शिकायतकर्ता को पता चला कि मोबाइल नंबर बंद था और टेलीग्राम आईडी हटा दी गई थी। यह महसूस होने पर कि वह एक धोखाधड़ी योजना का शिकार हो गया है, शिकायतकर्ता
ने तुरंत एम.आई.डी.सी पुलिस को सूचित किया।

इसके बाद, पुलिस ने अज्ञात अपराधी के खिलाफ धोखाधड़ी से संबंधित आई.टी धाराओं के तहत मामला दर्ज किया। जैसे ही जाँच आगे बढ़ी, तकनीकी साक्ष्य के आधार पर आशीष पटेल को पूछताछ के लिए गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया ।
