Caleta Portales de Valparaíso es un lugar muy concurrido por los amantes de los productos del mar. La pesca es principalmente artesanal. En el terminal pesquero de comercializan una gran variedad de pescados y mariscos frescos provenientes del sur y norte de Chile, siendo posible la degustación de mariscos y ceviche. Espectáculo aparte son la gran presencia de lobos marinos, gaviotas y pelícanos que se alimentan de los deshechos resultantes de la limpieza de los productos del mar.
