Dr. Russell Barber discuss Jewish Mysticism on The First Estate broadcast on WNBC-TV channel 4 in 1979. Recorded on a VHS tape.

The standard Jewish prayers (Amida) are based on the Kabbalah.

There are three branches of Kabbalah:
1) theoretical Kabbalah - mechanics and overview
2) meditative Kabbalah - how to obtain deeper experience with Hashem thru meditation
3) magical - how to manipulate the the physical world - Golem, amulets etc...(not common) permitted and prohibited items need to be understood, and NOT using the Dark side...requires a divine directive before attempting this one
