1998 Lincoln Mark 8 drift 10/22/22 ALL RUNS
Testing the solid spherical bushing mod for the front strut rod bushings.

Before I would only get a few passes then end my night because the strut rod bushing gets ripped off from all the weight pulling on them after 2 to 3 runs.
This was causing really horrible steering control, as seen in earlier videos, and possibly risking ripping off the knuckle assembly.

Alex Anderson @alexanderson810 helped with fabricating the HD Spherical bushings to the subframe. A bit of shaving the inside diameter for the offset spacers to accept the OEM strut rod passing through. I retained the OEM style Ultra brand bushings for the rod to arm and they are not damaged after this event.

I performed a basic string alignment for a street/drift non caged car with factory arms and adjustments.

10/22/22 is my first event with no bushing issues so I was able to get several runs to feel out the car and learn how to trust the weight control.
I started with a feeler lap, then started testing how it feel trying different things. THe evening I was able to dial it in and get some decent runs in. Far better control and feel with the steering inputs and welded diff.

I shaved 1/4" off the threaded end of the inner tierods and swapped to a foxbody rack and solid universal joint to steering shaft.
