WHY OLD VINTAGE LENSES ARE SO GOOD

On all my video shoots I tent to always head back to my old vintage lenses on newer more state of the art bodies. Although I own a whole bunch of newer amazing lenses like the Canon 70-200 L series zoom and the Sigma ART 50mm f/1.4, I always gravitate back to my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 circa 1970 lense for beauty shots and whenever a human type looking footage is needed. In this video, I look at some really cool old Canon FL mount lenses I just purchased and ponder on a little theory as to why I like these lenses so much. I also ponder why these lenses are subjectively better than their more modern counterparts. I think it boils down to image desirability and less the exactitude of the image.
