Today I hiked the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) in Peru. It was an early morning with our morning pickup at 3am but it was worth it! I hiked all the way up to 17,000ft and I definitely could feel the altitude. On the way up, I chewed some coca leaves to aid with the altitude and they gave me a nice energy boost and refresh. The views during the entire hike were incredible. I also hiked over to the Red Valley which is right next to the Rainbow Mountain and there were great views there as well. Overall this hike was an incredible adventure that I highly recommend to do while in Peru.
