‘We have to get rid of this gender politics’: Pauline Hanson slams QLD Police

One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson has slammed Queensland Police over revelations it hired women who hadn’t met the required standards in order to meet a 50-50 gender target.

“They stopped about 200 men that would have been up to scratch to actually take the position,” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“These women didn’t pass the psychological or even the physical aspects of policing, but they’re pushing for the women to take up these positions.”

Ms Hanson said Queensland Police should have hired people “based on merit” and their ability to “do the job”.

“We have to get rid of this gender politics … it’s not doing us or the society a favour,” she said.

“I’d like to get rid of it in politics.”
