Serious Play: Design in Midcentury America (Part 1, Clothing)
On display May 5 - August 25, 2019, the Denver Art Museum's exhibition "Serious Play: Design in Midcentury America" explores the intersection between play and design in the 1950s and ’60s, delving into projects by more than 40 designers who demonstrated playfulness and whimsy within their creations for corporations, domestic interiors, and children. In Part 1: Eames Office Education Director, Carla Hartman, introduces us to the start of the exhibit by detailing the clothing that the Eameses carefully selected.
