Meet the Pace University students advocating against single use plastics on campus

At her university’s dining hall, all containers and utensils are single-use plastic—a reality that presents Julia, a Millennium Fellow, with an opportunity to drive meaningful change.

Through her project ‘Pace Against Waste’, she is raising awareness about the environmental impact of single-use plastics and empowering students to adopt sustainable alternatives like reusable products and composting. She is spreading her message through social media, campus flyers, and educational campaigns while also leading a petition to advocate for more sustainable dining practices.
