I tried the FUZZY TOFU in China 🤯🧀🇨🇳 #chinatravel #chinafood #travelchina #chengdu #streetfood

This tofu is literally covered in fuzz… and people in China LOVE it 🤯🧀🇨🇳

It’s called Mao Tofu (毛豆腐), a traditional fermented tofu specialty famous in parts of China for its fluffy white “hair” created during the fermentation process. Don’t worry — the fuzz is intentional 😂

The tofu is usually pan-fried until crispy outside and soft inside, then covered in spicy sauces, garlic, and chili for an intense umami flavor that’s surprisingly addictive.

For a lot of travelers, this might be one of the most shocking street foods in China… but locals see it as a nostalgic comfort food with deep cultural roots.

Would you actually try fuzzy tofu? 👀
