In today's family farm video we are getting rid of the pigs, the American guinea hogs. We had to make a tough decision today, & we decided that it would just best for us & our farm if we got rid of the American guinea hogs. And here is why. The big storm really washed out the pig area & we were going to have to do some major work, but the real deciding factor was that the closest USDA inspected processor was over 3 hours away, so it was over a 6 hour round trip, and that is not including any stops, just to take a pig to the processor, & that was just too much for us. Especially that most of the time, Mrs. Cog BHill was the one taking them bc I work a full-time job.

So as bad as we hated it, we just had to do it. Sometimes you just have to know when to say when, & cut your ties & cut your losses & move on...bc that means another door will open!
