1. Jeddah Tower
The Jeddah Tower will soon become the tallest building in the world, replacing the 2,717 ft tall Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which currently holds the title. The Jeddah Tower is located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Once complete, the building will be 3,307 ft tall, which will render it the world’s only building to be over 1 km tall. It will have 167 floors. A preliminary cost of constructing the building has been estimated at US$1.23 billion and is expected to be completed by 2020. The tower will be part of the Jeddah Economic City and a major attraction in the area. The complex will be located on the coast of the Red Sea and is expected to attract tourists to Jeddah, leading to faster development of the city. The Jeddah Tower was designed by Adrian Smith, the same architect who designed the Burj Khalifa. 56 floors of the building have been completed as of October 2017.

2. Suzhou Zhongnan Center
Once completed, the Suzhou Zhongnan Center will become the third tallest building in the world. The building is planned to be 2,391.7 ft tall, with 137 floors and 93 elevators. The building will be located in the Suzhou Industrial Park in the city of Suzhou, China. The estimated cost of constructing the Suzhou Zhongnan Center is $4.46 billion USD. However, the construction of the building has been on hold since 2015.

3. Dubai One Tower
The Dubai One Tower will become the world’s tallest residential building once completed. The building’s construction began in July 2016 and is expected to be completed by 2020. The building is located in Dubai, UAE. The finished building will be 2,333 ft tall and have 161 floors.

4. KLCC East Gate Tower
Another upcoming tall building is the KLCC East Gate Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Construction of the building started in 2017. The building is planned to be 2,297 ft high and has 145 floors, some of which will be used for offices.

5. Tianfu Center
The Tianfu Center is planned to be built in Chengdu city in China. It is expected to be completed by the year 2023. When complete, the building will be 2,218 ft tall and have 157 floors.

6. Bangalore Turf Tower
The city of Bangalore in India is experiencing a great skyscraper boom. Bangalore's current tallest building, Mantri Pinnacle, is 502 ft tall. However, Bangalore is soon to host the tallest building in India and one of the tallest in the world. When built, the Bangalore Turf Tower will be more than 2,000 ft tall. It is planned for construction and could be complete by 2021.

7. Signature Tower
A proposed skyscraper in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Signature Tower, will become one of the ten tallest buildings in the world when built. The tower is planned to be 2,093 ft high and will have 113 floors above ground, and six below ground. The building is estimated to be complete in 2022. Above-ground floors will be utilized as convention space and entertainment venues, as well as for residential and office use. Below-ground floors will be used for parking.

8. Wuhan Greenland Center
The Wuhan Greenland Center is a 2,087 ft tall skyscraper currently being built in Wuhan, China. The building is expected to be completed by 2019 and is planned to have the highest artificial observation deck in the world. The deck will be located at a height of 610 meters on Level 126. The Wuhan Greenland Center will also host the highest hotel in the world. As of October 2017, 95 floors have been completed.

9. Changchun World Trade Center
The Changchun World Trade Center has been proposed for construction in Changchun, China. If built, the building will include apartments, hotels, and offices. According to the proposal, the building would have 126 floors and be 2,070 ft tall.

10. Merdeka PNB 118
The Merdeka PNB 118 is a skyscraper under construction that will also be 2,070 ft tall when complete. The building is located in the Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur and will have 118 floors.
