A DAY IN LITTLE PORTUGAL: A little neighborhood in San Jose | San Francisco Bay Area Travel Vlog

Little Portugal is a historical neighborhood in San Jose made up of a few blocks, home to a few Portuguese businesses. There was a huge influx of Portuguese settlers that arrives in the valley in 1950s, many of them where from the Islands of Azores. And many settled in this neighborhood.

Unfortunately, on my visit, I noticed that the neighborhood was quite dead.
Many of the businesses have closed their doors, and the ones that were open seemed empty. The only thing that still had life in this neighborhood was its local bakery, restaurant, cafe and church.

The cafe (Café do Canto) was the highlight of our trip. Now this place is lively! Everyone spoke Portuguese here and the menu was simple and straight forward, no fancy trendy items here! #WanderwithAwe #HappyWandering xx.
