Flying a radio controlled sailplane off a "Hi-Start".

A Hi-Start is 100ft of latex surgical tubing, some string, and a small parachute. The object is to fly the plane into thermals and keep it flying as long as you can.

This is as simple and beautiful as model radio control planes gets. The model is made of an almost indestructible Styrofoam like substance called Expanded Polypropylene (E.P.P.) which makes it great for beginners like me. The plane
is a Dave's Aircraft Works - "TG-3"

I can' t think of a nicer way to spend a sunny afternoon.
