Recodec is a compact AUv3 audio effect from Christian Thompson, available as a standalone app and plugin for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It instantly adds grit, texture, and harmonic character to clean signals, perfect for shaping drums, vocals, synths, guitars, and loops.
It features a Crusher for bit-depth reduction, Reducer for sample-rate degradation, Drive for rich harmonics, plus Refine, Bass, Treble, and a protective limiter — all with a fast, vintage-inspired workflow. With 35 factory presets, user preset saving, MIDI Learn, and simple controls, it’s ideal for quick creative processing in hosts like AUM, GarageBand, Cubasis, or Logic Pro.
