**Always follow the instructions in your repair manual when doing repair or maintenance work on a motorcycle. Manuals can be found at the dealer and online.**
In this video I show how to replace the fuel filter for a 2008 Harley Davidson Road Glide. The fuel filter can be replaced using common tools except for the cam ring remover/installer required to remove the cam ring which secures the top plate to your gas tank. A tool list is mentioned in the video. The Harley Davidson part number for the Cam Ring Remover/Installer is HD-48646. I was not able to find this tool at any local HD dealer, but I was able to find it online for around $70. Also, I have heard of people making this tool out of PVC pipe, but I wasn't able to find the right size PVC pipe locally, so I made the tool out of some scrap metal I had lying around. Some people use a hammer and punch to remove the ring, but I don't recommend this method, because it is easy to slip and hit your fuel tank. It can also be dangerous pounding metal around a fuel source such as the gasoline in your bikes fuel tank (sparks).
The fuel filter part number is 61011-04A
