Directed by David Gordon Green and produced by John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jason Blum, Halloween Kills is the sequel to Halloween 2018 and the second film in Green's Halloween reboot trilogy which concludes with Halloween Ends 2022. The film stars Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Kyle Richards and Anthony Michael Hall as Tommy Doyle.

The Halloween Kills official trailer promised a huge body count, a slew of horror movie references, and a long-awaited unmasking for Michael Myers.

Between being set in a hospital and picking up the action of the sequel exactly where the last movie left off, Halloween Kills owes an obvious creative debt to Halloween 2 (1981). As the best-reviewed of Halloween’s many sequels, it makes sense for Halloween Kills to ape the approach of the underrated 1981 horror movie sequel. However, the amount of footage set throughout Haddonfield does mean Michael Myers will also likely have a slightly larger scope.

The Halloween Kills trailer 2021 features the killing of an older couple, a handful of corpses strewn throughout a playground, and a shocking sequence wherein Michael Myers slays a slew of firefighters attempting to salvage the house burning behind him. Thanks to these glimpses, the Halloween Kills body count already amounts to nine victims (at least), and that is judging only by the two and half minute halloween kills reaction viewers have seen so far cody leach, sean chandler, dave mcrae.

A trademark mask makes up part of Michael Myers’ immediately recognizable iconic appearance. However, the halloween 2021 trailer reaction makes it clear that the monster will be unmasked in this sequel, although it remains to be seen whether viewers will get a glimpse of his mysterious face. The Halloween kills 2021 trailer obscures Michael’s face by shooting him from behind as he is taunted with the promise of his mask’s return, but the action of the Halloween Kills movie could still fulfill the promise of fans finally seeing the man behind the mask.

Halloween Kills arrives in theaters on October 15th for Halloween 2021. Halloween Ends opens October 14, 2022.
