How to Add Date and Time in Power BI Dashboard | #shorts

Learn how to add date and time in Power BI dashboard. In Power BI, add date and time or date with time & show current date in Dashboard. We use TODAY in Power BI to show date and we use NOW in Power BI to show date with time.

▶ Display the current date in Power BI.
▶ Create a new measure and use TODAY() DAX function, commit.
▶ Alternatively, create another measure and use NOW() DAX function, commit.
▶ Let’s visualize the output in Card visual.
▶ Today() measure returns the current date, without the time component.
▶ Whereas Now() measure returns the current date and time, with the timestamp.
▶ We can use Today() DAX function for date-related calculations.
▶ It resets at midnight every day.
▶ If you use it at 8 AM or 8 PM, it will return the same value (current date).
▶ On the other hand, we can use NOW() DAX function for scheduling.
▶ It reflects the exact moment when the function is evaluated.
▶ So, if you use it at 8 AM or 8 PM, it will return different values with different times.
▶ Both functions will update dynamically whenever the report is refreshed.
