Walter Pais Memorial Industrial Training Institute, Horapet, Tumakuru which began in 2009, as a small Technical Centre serving a few students, has today grown into a multifaceted educational and technical institution. The institution primarily gives importance to service to the poor and the marginalized youth: to protect them from exploitation and to raise their socio-economic status. The institute also takes keen interest in rural youth in technical skills.

With an objective of ensuring a steady flow of skilled personnel and to reduce unemployment amongst the educated youth by equipping them with required skills, education and discipline for suitable industrial employment as well as self-employment, Walter Pais Memorial ITC has been set up.

Walter Pais Memorial Industrial Training Centre is the unit of Sacred Heart Group Of Educational Institution. The institute, recognized by NCVT, New Delhi; DGET, New Delhi and DET Government of Karnataka. The institute has the best available infrastructure and well qualified dedicated teachers, well equipped laboratories and workshops.

Course and Trade of Study
Electrician:
Technical Education has been the backbone of the industries and it continues to be so Electrician is the one who is specialized in all domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical installation, Terminology, Maintenance, services and repair works, an electrician can do wiring and designing of circuits in the new buildings, apartments, electrical fixtures and fittings, repairing and services of domestic appliances like fans, iron box, heaters, geysers, oven electric stoves, cabling work, alarm installation, regular safety check, maintenance, rewinding of electric motors, installation of transformers, switch board etc.

Skills acquired:
On completion of the course the trainee shall have through knowledge of, generation, transmission and distribution line, overhead different types of insulators. Earthing used in substation, power station, lighting arrestor, reactor, and different types of capacitors in AC/DC circuit used in electronic and electrical installation in industries. Construction of different types of batteries and electrolytes used in it, he shall able to prepare and repair batteries in workshop. Servicing and repairing of table fan, ceiling fan, exhaust fan, hair dryer, mixer, liquidizer, grinder, water pump, washing machine, AC/DC generator, transformers, electromagnetic clutches and relays used in AC/DC circuit. He shall be able to, design prepare HT/CT panel boards used for industries / workshop. Detect Fault in different types of AC and DC starter and motor timer used in factories and workshop and take up maintenance of machinery like lathe, machine, milling machine, capson lathe, CNC machine, Connect different types of measuring instrument on the panel boards. He shall be an expert in hand winding and machine winding of transformers, field coils of DC motors, rewinding of armature stator winding bell/Buzzer/NVC, OLC of DC starter.

Options for employment are :
Can work as a lineman / Wireman /maintenance electrician electrical supervisor / electrical contractor / service technician/expert rewinder/ lab technician /electrical maintenance Forman in Pvt. sector industries and govt. sector.
they can job at state and Central Government establishments, MNCs, Public and private sectors, Electric boards, Railways, Telephone departments, Generating stations, Airports, Hotels, Auditoriums, Hospitals, Theatres, Shopping Malls, Apartments, Industries etc. KAVIKA, GE-POWER, ISRO, HAL, NAL, BHEL, BEML, ABB, APC etc.

Options for self employment are :
Domestic and industrial wiring, own electrical workshop.filtration of transformer on lines. rewinding of different types of AC/DC motors, generator & transformers, Panel board wiring busbar wiring and measuring instrument wiring.
