Tenerife

This holiday was in 2022 after I had finished uni and shortly after my girlfriend and I had broken up.
I felt extremely depressed and found it hard to enjoy myself, even though I was surrounded by my family on a beautiful island doing fun activities.

This vlog is meant to be from my perspective, seeing everyone having fun while I am putting on a smile and crumbling on the inside. The music and lighting contrast the smiling faces and sunny surroundings, accurately portraying how I was feeling in those moments.

The continuous zoom seen through is to represent my mental state and a constant feeling of unease during the trip, as I felt very conflicted and was overwhelmed by keeping my emotions to myself.
I could also argue that the zooming represents my intent to move on from the relationship and forward with my life.

The music is a piece I used to listen to during lockdown while I would walk alone at night around my little town, the feelings I had then were similar to the holiday I had just been looking for a good video to use it in.
