Crises. War. Climate change. Corona. Inflation.
I'm constantly haunted by news and by worries.
Then I drive to the gig or to the studio.
I close the car door and the world stays outside.
Finally, time with myself.
Silence. Time out.
During the car ride, I listen to the soothing sound of the road, gaze into ever-changing landscapes, and my first thoughts rise. I look forward to the venue, the audience, and the music. The positive adrenaline causes a firework of promising ideas. My cell phone is full of recorded ideas in the form of singsong, which is later used to create new pieces.
