How to solve Hanjie Puzzles

In this video we explain the rules of hanjie puzzles (also known as nonograms), and walk you through how to solve an easy hanjie puzzle.

Along the way we show you the main methods you will use to make progress when solving hanjie puzzles, for instance working out which squares must be shaded or empty in a row or column even when you don't know the exact final make-up of that row or column, together with cross-referencing how progress in one row or column can help you make further progress in adjacent rows and columns.
