Person Trapped After Major Crash Leaves Car Unrecognizable

DETAILS:

OCFA firefighters responded to the intersection reference a two vehicle crash
Arriving firefighters located one vehicle with severe damage on the passenger side, nearly unrecognizable
One occupant of the nearly destroyed vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated using the jaws of life
The vehicle reportedly struck a power pole during the crash, causing the major damage
The occupant was extricated and transported to a nearby hospital, believed to be in grave condition
All southbound lanes of Beach Blvd are closed just prior to Lampson Avenue for at least the next 4 hours
The occupants of the other car appeared uninjured and remained on scene
