This clip was taken from Richard Nixon’s announcement of his resignation on August 8, 1974 after he tried to cover up the break in of the Democratic National Convention. which caused his popularity with both the American people and Congress to deteriorate to levels so low that he was going to face certain impeachment. Whether he resigned or not, Ford would’ve became the president because the Democrats had supermajorities in Congress, which would’ve removed Nixon from office. I decided to call this video “How Nixon invented the YouTuber apology" because his speech sounds like a generic YouTuber apology video.
