A new study has revealed that people of Indus Valley Civilization, also know as Harappan civilization, used to eat more meat. Beef was also included in their food. This study has appeared in the Journal of Archaeological Science and was led by PHD scholar Akshayeta Suryanarayana at Cambridge University. In her PHD thesis, Akshayeta has researched the residue of fat on pots of Indus Valley Civilization. According to her, there have been many studies about this in the past, but their focus was on the crops grown then.Its authors include Professor Vasant Shinde, former Vice-Chancellor and a well-known archaeologist of Deccan College, Pune and Professor Ravindra N Singh of BHU.
