DIRI Avec pwa Congo aka Rice with pigeon peas
Hi Everyone,
Welcome back to my channel!!! and in today's video, I will be showing you how to make Diri ak Pwa Congo aka Rice with Pigeon Peas

Ingredients:
3 cups of water
2 ½ cups of pigeon peas
2 cups of jasmine white rice
½ cup of coconut milk (optional)
1 Goya Packet
1 tablespoon of Lilly Butter
1 tablespoon of tomato paste
1 ½ tablespoon of Haitian epis
3 tablespoon of olive oil
Parsley/thyme
Directions:
1. Wash the pigeon peas to remove any leftover ice from the pack.
2. Add the pigeons peas on medium high heat and let it boil for 15-20 minutes
3. After 20 minutes has passed, in a separate pan, on medium high heat, add the oil and epis and let it sautee for 5 minutes. You will then add the boiled peas to the pan.
4. Next you will add the tomato paste, Badia Complete Seasoning (optional) , Goya packet, coconut milk and parsley and thyme.
5. You will add the 2 cups of the remaining water from the pot and add it to the pan. You will then add the butter.
6. While the water is boiling, you will wash the rice three times and add the washed rice to the pan. You will cover it with aluminum foil and let it cook for 30 minutes.
7.After that you are ready to enjoy your rice …..Bon Apetit ! 😊
