This is a demonstration of MS Excel's Solver Add-In. Solver is a free piece of software already installed in Excel. To activate it:
1. Go to the Files tab
2. Click "Options"
3. Click "Add-Ins"
4. Select Solver and click OK
Solver allows users to solve optimization problems using three methods, the most common being the Simplex LP method for linear programming problems.
Linear programming problems occur in blending, transportation, and production problems. Whether you're shipping vehicles, mixing nutrients in dog food, or building an investment portfolio subject to user constraints, Solver can be of great help.
