The Directorate General of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared the alert situation by waves from 03.00 hours this Sunday on the coast of La Palma and the north and west coast of the other islands, where waves of 4 and 6 meters are expected, reported Saturday in a statement.

Specifically, it details that the alert affects the north and west coast of the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, as well as the north coast of Gran Canaria.

According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), it is foreseen mainly swell, caused by the passage of a squall to the north of the Canary Islands, which will give rise to combined sea from the northwest that will affect mainly the windward coasts, open to the north and west, of all the islands of the archipelago, says the Directorate General of Emergencies.
