Bat is a digital advertising cryptocurrency, built on Ethereum’s network. Its intent is to develop a method through which publishers, users, and advertisers can connect with one another in a decentralized environment.

With Bat, users, advertisers, and publishers are rewarded. Users get paid for their attention in relation to advertisements, and publishers receive a portion of the ad revenue.

⚙️ Technology ⚙️

The Brave browser was created by the Bat team and focuses on both speed and privacy. When you use the Brave browser all unnecessary advertisements or trackers are blocked by default.

Brave measures what it calls the "Attention Value" of every ad on its browser. Brave calculates this measurement based on the amount of time the advertisement is viewable along with the number of pixels which the user can see in relation to the pertinent content.

The browser relies on machine learning to determine the value of various advertisements. Once that is determined, Brave shows users the type of ads they are most likely to want to see.

Brave also uses enhanced advertisement matching. The browser maintains a collection of data, which includes active tabs, keyword searches, URLs, and browsing information.

Since all the advertisement matching is done at the local level, users get better Battery life, high-quality browsing, undisturbed content, and less data usage.

💰️ Token 💰

The Bat ICO concluded in June of 2017 and they were able to raise $35 million in the space of 30 seconds. This was considered slightly controversial as the token sale was centralised.

The Brave project has a total supply of 1.5 billion tokens, with more than 1.35 billion currently in circulation.

👨‍💻️ Team, Partners & Development 👨‍💻

The Brave founders is Brendan Eich who is well known in the community for inventing Javascript. He is also one of the key players behind the the Mozilla Firefox browser.

You also have co-founder Brian Brondy. Brondy was also instrumental in the development of Firefox, as well as Khan Academy and Evernote.

The team is continuing to expand out their publisher roster and currently there are names such as the Guardian, Wikipedia, Washington Post and DuckDuckGo.

📈 Trading & Wallets 📈

BAT is listed on a plethora of exchanges although the bulk of the volume is being done on IDCM. BAT is also listed on the likes of Coinbase Pro and Binance.

There are also healthy order books on these exchanges with reasonable liquidity and narrow buy / sell spread. The order books are also quite deep with reasonable daily turnover.

For storage, you can keep your BAT in any Etheruem compatible ERC20 wallet. Your best bet is probably a hardware wallet like a ledger or Trezor - both of which are supported.
