1923 Season 2 Episode 1 Recap: Spencer Is Literally Fighting To Get Home To The Yellowstone Ranch

The first episode of 1923 season 2, begins months later, during a harsh winter that is engulfing Montana. Even though Teonna Rainwater, a fugitive being hunted by Father Renaud and Marshal Kent, is not experiencing harsh weather, her life's in jeopardy as she runs south to hide among other local people. This is how the second and last season of the Yellowstone prequel is set up in the opening of season two of 1923.

Spencer Dutton is frantic to get back to Montana and defend his family. Spencer can't avoid danger even if the big game lion hunter is currently on an Italian cargo bound for Galveston, Texas. Spencer, who worked in the boiler room of the ship, became friends with Luca, an Italian young man Dutton discovered was being sexually assaulted in the middle of the night. Spencer saved Luca twice: once when he attempted to jump overboard and again when he was being raped.
