Pakistan’s statement at #unsc briefing on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, April 09, 2025

Pakistan remains deeply concerned by the disproportionate impact of the Ukraine conflict on civilians. The protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure is an obligation under International Law and International Humanitarian Law and must be fully and consistently respected by all parties.

Delivering the national statement in the Security Council meeting on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine today, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, Pakistan's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, said that the parties are under obligation to ensure conditions that allow unimpeded access for the humanitarian workers, while ensuring their protection.

The DPR said that Pakistan’s position on the Ukraine conflict has been consistent. He said that from the outset, we have advocated dialogue and diplomacy for the immediate cessation of hostilities and a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
