Replace Your Data Stack with Claude Code

Replace your data stack with Claude Code. The Definite MCP server gives Claude Code 500+ connectors, a managed data lake, semantic models, dashboards, and data apps — every step driven by AI, from sync to ship.

One MCP install command hooks Claude Code up to Definite. From there, Claude Code can sync any data source — Stripe, Salesforce, HubSpot, Shopify, Postgres, BigQuery, an internal API, anything from our 500+ connectors — into your own managed data lake. We host the infrastructure. From the same terminal, Claude Code builds semantic models on top of that lake, runs analytics, ships dashboards, and deploys live data apps. The whole modern data stack, replaced by one terminal — and the entire process, start to finish, is driven by AI.

In this Short I show the full loop end-to-end with four prompts. NBA stats API is the example source — but every step works the same against any of the 500+ connectors.

1. "Connect to the NBA stats API and sync the data into our DuckLake. Schedule it daily at 10am PT." → configure_sync + create_doc + execute_doc fire, the pipeline is created, daily refresh scheduled, and a link to the raw tables in the data lake appears in the terminal. Click it: player_game_logs, teams, team_stats, games, shot_chart_data, line_scores, common_player_info — every table from the NBA API, landed in DuckLake, queryable.

2. "Now model this data with Cube — semantic models for player-game stats and team-game stats." → save_cube_model fires three times. Click the catalog link and there's nba_player_games (measures: pts, rebs, asts, fg_pct; dimensions: player_name, team, game_date), nba_team_games, and nba_teams — governed, reusable, ready to query from anywhere.

3. "Now build me a data app to explore this — games list, game detail with box score, player detail with shot chart." → write_drive_file + build_data_app, and a link to the deployed app appears. Click it: NBA Explorer, eight games for Mar 19 2026, click LAL @ MIA → full box score, click Stats → team comparison, click Luka Dončić → player detail with season averages and a static shot chart.

4. "Add a 3D shot chart with playback animation." → update_data_app, click ▶ Replay on the player page, and the chart turns into a 3D Lakers court with Luka's 30 shots from the night arcing over the rim — made shots leave green floor markers, missed shots leave red rings, all in the live data app.

Why this beats the alternatives:

- Fivetran + Snowflake + dbt + Looker + ChartMogul is five contracts, five SaaS bills, and probably a data engineer to wire it together. This is one signup, one MCP install command, and Claude Code does the rest.
- Cube Cloud and Hex give you parts of the stack but not the warehouse, sync, or the deployed-app runtime — and they don't give Claude Code governed access to all of it.
- Claude Artifacts and v0 generate UI from a prompt, but they're not connected to your data and they can't run a pipeline. Definite's MCP server gives Claude Code real production data plus the verbs to model it and ship apps over it.
- Stripe Sigma, Salesforce Reports, and other tool-native analytics work on one source — Definite + Claude Code joins them all and ships the dashboard.

Definite is a managed warehouse, sync, semantic layer, data apps, and an MCP server in one platform. Claude Code + Definite MCP = your entire data stack, replaced by one terminal.

What You'll Learn:
- How to install the Definite MCP server in Claude Code (one command)
- How Claude Code's tool calls look across the full stack (configure_sync, create_doc, execute_doc, save_cube_model, write_drive_file, build_data_app, update_data_app)
- How to sync a third-party API into a managed lake from a Claude Code prompt
- How to define Cube semantic models from the terminal
- How to ship a live data app — and refine it with a follow-up prompt instead of rebuilding it
- Why Definite + Claude Code replaces Fivetran + Snowflake + dbt + Looker + ChartMogul (and Cube Cloud, Hex, v0, Artifacts)

Who Is This For:
- Founders and engineering leads tired of stitching together five vendors to get one dashboard
- Data engineers and analytics engineers evaluating consolidation against Fivetran + Snowflake + dbt + Looker
- Claude Code power users looking for real MCP integrations against governed business data, not just code edits
- Anyone who's been told "you need a data team" before they could ship their first internal analytics app
