Caring for your Wessex Z Valves

Rotary valves were first invented over 150 years ago and, in that time, have seen little change to the way they are made or the way they are fixed to brass instruments.

Contained in casings built into the instrument which are then hammered into place, with a valve cap screwed over the top, they’re notoriously difficult to remove for brass horn maintenance, leaving many musicians under-confident when cleaning or caring for your instruments.

Wessex Z valves have been specifically created to overcome this.

Contained in their own casings rather than directly fitted onto the instrument, these casings then slide into the horn, and are held in place with an easy-to-remove screw; making brass horn valve care a much easier process.
