Rolling Stones Jumpin' Jack Flash, Sympathy For The Devil LA Forum Live 1975 Part 6
The Rolling Stones L.A. Forum Live In 1975 Part 6 of 6 perform Jumpin' Jack Flash and encore Sympathy For The Devil (6:03) from 1968 album Beggars Banquet. Mick Jagger drags an inflated, spewing dragon on-stage and douses the concert audience and his half-naked self with buckets of water.
To date, Jumpin' Jack Flash is the Stones' most-performed song, having played it over 1,100 times in concert. Rolling Stone magazine ranked Sympathy For The Devil at number 32 in its list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
"From The Vault" is a video series of live concerts from The Rolling Stones archive. The Rolling Stones' "Tour Of The Americas '75" was the band's first tour with former Rod Stewart & Faces guitarist Ronnie Wood. The tour consisted of 44 dates from June through August 1975. The Rolling Stones performed at the Los Angeles Forum, Inglewood, CA for five nights from July 9th to 13th. This restored, newly sound mixed concert film features the show from July 12, 1975. The Rolling Stones are Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman and Ronnie Wood. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWptyRPuZHuEnZS62anWzmG21vgKBvey7
The Rolling Stones 2018 No Filter tour is the band's first run of U.K. dates in five years.
SkyNews.com: The Rolling Stones completed the eight-gig leg of their UK tour last week without pausing for breath. By the time you read this they will be somewhere between the Olympiastadion in Berlin and Marseille's Velodrome.
Statistics are in from just over half of the concerts on the current European tour. The Stones have already played live to over 800,000 people and grossed more than £90m. Not bad for a band formed in 1962 led by septuagenarians. Three founding stars are still performing: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards both turn 75 this year, and drummer Charlie Watts is 77.
These days more money is earned from live performance than recording sales. Lots of groups from the 60s and 70s return to the stage for the money-spinning, relying on the nostalgia of their ageing fans.
The Stones are different. They are still a contemporary phenomenon as demonstrated by the scale, expense and popularity of their tour. Although the 65-year-old writer Matthew Parris reckoned that the average age of the crowd in Leicester was older than him, the fans I saw in Twickenham were adults from the mid-twenties upward.
The core of their act draws on the vast catalogue of songs from a dozen or so albums they released in the 60s and 70s including such mega hits as Honky Tonk Women, Satisfaction and Jumping Jack Flash. But for performance these have been reworked using the full power of modern video technology. For this tour Jagger has converted You Can't Always Get What You Want, Sympathy For The Devil and Midnight Rambler into extended dark fantasies complete with audience participation.
The critics of the self-styled "Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World" like to claim that the Stones have always been overshadowed by a rival - the Beatles in the 1960s, Queen in 70s, U2 in the 80s, Coldplay in the nineties etc. But the Stones have outlasted them all, while remaining true to themselves as the prototype group for sex, drugs and rock and roll.
