From July 13th to 16th, the first stage of the Roller Ski World Cup will take place at the Olympic Training Center for Winter Sports in Schuchinsk, Kazakhstan. Within the World Cup, athletes will compete in four races: sprint, supersprint, individual race and mass start.

Athletes from two age categories - men/women and juniors - will participate. Cross-country skiers from Kazakhstan, Norway, Italy, Sweden, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) and Thailand have submitted their entries for the international competition.

The Kazakhstani stage of the World Cup marks the first international races of the new roller ski season. According to the competition calendar of the International Ski Federation (FIS), the following stages will take place in Latvia and Italy in August and September.

The Olympic Training Center for Winter Sports in Schuchinsk has previously hosted major international races in cross-country skiing, biathlon, and ski jumping. Roller ski competitions will now be added to this list. It is worth mentioning that the FIS Roller Ski World Cup stage in Schuchinsk is the first of its kind in the history of Kazakhstani skiing.

The international competitions in Schuchinsk are supporting by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ski Association of Kazakhstan, the International Ski Federation (FIS), and the Olympic Training Center for Winter Sports.

The races of the first stage of the Roller Ski World Cup will be broadcast live on the COP ZVS TV YouTube channel. It is also possible to follow the competitions from the stadium stands.

Entry to the Olympic Training Center for Winter Sports during the Roller Ski World Cup stage is free.
