Why Study Ego Networks?
This video for the undergraduate social networks course of the University of Maine at Augusta considers the question, "Why Study Ego Networks?" Why not simply study entire social networks with all of the nodes and ties contained therein? There are multiple answers to this question, and we consider a few of them after reviewing the distinction between an ego network and a complete network.
