Koper railway line is the busiest single track railway in the region. Over 100 freight trains per day pass railway line between Divača and Port of Koper. There are all possible freight trains, piece goods, bulk cargo... (containers, automobiles, ores, general goods...).

This railway line overcomes a large difference in altitude at a short distance and it is the reason why trains often have two or more locomotives traction. SŽ Tauruses and SŽ 363 ("Brižitka") are mainly engaged in train traction. There are also other operators locomotives.
