NO Alcohol Easy Sleep Herbal Remedy
This is a sleep tincture herbal blend with a twist: No alcohol. Technically, this herbal preparation is called an oxymel, as it contains vinegar and honey. An oxymel is an ancient way of extracting the beneficial chemicals from plants and is often used as a substitute for alcoholic tinctures. If you can't or don't want to use alcohol, creating an herbal oxymel is a great option!
NOTE: You can extract the herbal components in straight raw apple cider vinegar first, then add honey to taste after straining off the herbs, if you like, too. I added a bit of honey to this oxymel up front, though, as honey is our main sweetener, and we're almost out! :-)
**You can also use this blend to make an herbal tea, as well. Valerian doesn't taste that great, so you might want to dilute it in other liquids, especially with the tincture. Most don't have any problems with the taste.
I get my herbs at Starwest Botanicals: http://bit.ly/StarBot

Safety Considerations for this blend:
The herbs in this blend are generally regarded as safe and have a long history of use. A very small percentage of people may have the opposite effect intended. I suggest if you are using valerian for the first time, use it the night before a day you have nothing going on and don't have to go to work or have important activites... You'll know with the first use if you are one of these people. In the years I've been helping people with this blend, I've never come across one of these folks, but I need to let you know so you're aware.
