Rose Valley, PA

Rose Valley is an Arts and Crafts community founded by architect William L. Price. Most structures in its historic district were built of rubble stone, creek sand stucco, and have red tile roof. Homes are surrounded by vegetation and tend to be hidden from view. A system of paths link preserve with Ridley Creek. Small stone bridges cross streams. Gateposts have Mercer tile accents. Wood-worker Wharton Esherick was associated with the community. His wood horse sculpture later cast in bronze, is at a local school.
