A commemoration event & photographic exhibition was held today at the Cyprus House to mark 60 Years of United Nations UNFICYP’s presence in Cyprus and honour those British peacekeepers who served there, since UNFICYP’s establishment in 1964 under UN Security Council Resolution 186/1964.
UK Minister of State for Defence, The Earl of Minto, Timothy Minto, and Minister of State for Development and Africa, Andrew Mitchell MP, addressed the event.
The veterans were awarded by the High Commissioner, Andreas Kakouris, for #serving4peace in Cyprus.
