How to make Gothic style gauntlets. The wrist plate. Part I
In this video I take a look at the wrist plate, sometime called the ulna plate ... it's the one in the middle that goes directly over the wrist.
I'm making some German gothic style gauntlets for a charity event next year and plan on filming as much of the process as time allows. In an effort to keep the videos to about 10 minute bite sized chunks here is part one - so it may turn in a plate by plate account.
Usually I start with the knuckles, but am full of man flu and wasn't up for the 'heavy lifting' needed to make the knuckles so did this bit instead.
Gothic (sometimes called German) gauntlets are quite simple to make, they just take time and a little precision to get the plates working with one another well.
