Ice Age: Boiling Point was officially confirmed at D23 Brazil in
November 2024, with the full title revealed at Destination D23 in
August 2025. This is the sixth main Ice Age film and the first
theatrical entry since Collision Course in 2016. The entire original
voice cast is returning — Ray Romano as Manny, John Leguizamo as Sid,
Denis Leary as Diego, Queen Latifah as Ellie, and Simon Pegg as Buck.
The story takes the herd into never-before-seen corners of the Lost
World — dinosaurs, active volcanoes, lava everywhere, and total
prehistoric chaos. The first trailer was revealed at CinemaCon 2026
in Las Vegas, where Ray Romano, Denis Leary, and Queen Latifah showed
up in person to promote the film. The biggest surprise from the
trailer? Scrat is now a dad — Baby Scrat is confirmed and already
fighting his father over an acorn in the very first scene. However,
Seann William Scott has confirmed he is not returning, meaning Crash
is likely written out completely. On top of that, this is the first
Ice Age film not made by Blue Sky Studios — an entirely new animation
team is behind this one following Blue Sky's closure in April 2021.
The franchise has earned over 3.2 billion dollars worldwide, and this
one has a lot to live up to. Originally scheduled for December 2026,
the film was pushed to February 5, 2027 to avoid competition, giving
it a clean runway with zero major competition.
