“They Said I ‘Looked Like a Terrorist’ — My Day in the 9th Circuit”- Bandary v Delta #24-7204

In this clip from my oral argument in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit (Case No. 24-7204, Bandary v. Delta Air Lines), I respond to claims that I was “suspicious” during a flight.
The testimony? That I “looked like a terrorist,” based on my appearance and ordinary behavior—like walking down the aisle or using the restroom.
This moment raises a critical question:
What actually counts as “suspicious”—and when does it cross into bias?
This is not just my story. It’s about fairness, accountability, and how assumptions can shape real outcomes.
I am deeply grateful to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for appointing the Immersion Clinic at Georgetown Law to represent me, and especially thankful to Brian Wolfman, Natasha Khan, and Trent Dowell for their dedication and hard work.
I hope America continues to be a place of justice, fairness, and good people who stand for what is right.
